Magnesium bath salt: the facts
A product this simple deserves a straight answer about what it does. Here is ours, including the part most brands leave out.
What it is
Magnesium bath salt is a magnesium salt — usually magnesium sulphate or magnesium chloride — intended for dissolving in bath water. It is not the same as sea salt, and „Epsom salt“ is a traditional name for magnesium sulphate specifically. The label should tell you which one you have.
What a salt bath reliably does
Relaxes
Warm water plus twenty unhurried minutes. That is a real effect and it is enough.
Changes how water feels
Salt water feels different on the skin and can leave it feeling smoother.
Creates a routine
The under-rated part: a ritual you keep is worth more than an ingredient you do not.
Where the evidence stops
Claims that magnesium is absorbed through the skin in meaningful amounts are contested in the scientific literature. We do not make them, and we would rather tell you that than have you repeat it to a customer who checks.
How to use it: dissolve fully in running hot water, let the temperature settle, soak fifteen to twenty minutes, rinse afterwards if your skin is sensitive to salt.
